Tips:

I want you to have the best shoot possible. To look your best it would be helpful to adopt some simple things a few days before our shoot.

1) Drink Plenty of water!  For bright white eyes and glowing skin it helps to be well hydrated & rested. Drink plenty of water...or at least the minimum amount required by health experts...and you will see a noticeable difference in how you look and feel. Try to cut back on caffeine, alcohol, & smoking a few days before we shoot (but not so much that you are completely nuts when you get here). We know headshots are stressful enough for the actor without having to give up all your vices too so I promise I'll make you a big Margarita or cup of coffee when we are done. Get a good nights sleep before our shoot.

2) Lip Balm! Use it!  Carmex works well or any over the counter brand will do. Slather it on every day before you get here and your lips will look kissably delicious and your lipstick will go on better. There's nothing worse than dry flaky lips. This goes for you too men!

3) Clothing  Bring lots of choices! Bring a suitcase if you have to but bring enough that we have plenty to choose from. Especially if you are doing comp cards. The better quality the clothes, the better you will look. Bring different looks to show a wide range. If you bring stained, wrinkled clothing it will show up that way in your pictures. The Camera picks up everything! I always recommend that clients go out and get a few new snazzy outfits for the shoot. You can always return the clothes afterward.

4) Hair & Make-up  Hair is one of the most important aspects of your photo. Neat hair and a good haircut will make your pictures 10x better. Ok maybe only 2x better because I'm such a good photographer anyway but hey, better is better! I highly recommend that you hire a make-up/hair stylist for the shoot, it's well worth the extra few dollars to let them keep an eye on things and make you look your best.

Some clients like to get their hair styled at a salon before they come here, others schedule a cut the same day or day before. But be careful! Getting a haircut the day of or day before a shoot can be risky if you don't like how it turned out. Cuts are usually best a week before so the hair has had time to adjust. Please brings kids fresh faced (no make-up). We will fix them up here. Please make sure kids do not have on nail polish.

5) Know what you want  We both have the same goal which is to get you a fabulous headshot that you, your agent, and casting directors will love! I schedule only one client a day because I dont like to rush or put a time limit on things. I want to get to know you and I want to get several looks from you. Practice your looks in a mirror before you come. If you have to, pull out your old Madonna CD's and start Voguing. Thats right....Strike a pose..vogue vogue vogue.....

6) Friends, family, siblings, the milk man, your therapist   Leave them all at home or with a sitter! I have a strict one kid/one parent policy unless the sibling is also shooting the same day. Extra people are a distraction (especially for kids) and my space is not big enough to accomodate extras. It also makes going out on location harder if we are doing natural light shoots. So NO extra people.

     Hairstylists/make-up artists are an exception.
